About Me
About Me

I am an experienced accredited (by the BACP) qualified counsellor and clinical supervisor. I can assist you with a range of issues, problems and difficulties you might have in your life. I work in a safe, caring and non-judgmental environment.
Our first meeting will give you the chance to see whether counselling is right for you. Even after a short period of therapy, clients have reported to me that they have become more aware and in control of their problems and how they have managed their problems more effectively. They might also feel happier and fulfilled with themselves and with their lives.
In our counselling contract I will work very closely with you, forming an equal working relationship that will empower you to explore and address the issues that most concern you. I believe the aim of counselling is to bring change and awareness and to allow clients to reflect on their thinking, feeling and behaviour.
Issues that I often work with
- Work related issues, stress at work, feeling low and without motivation
- Relationship issues, bereavement and loss, abuse
- Isolation, mental health, spirituality
- Self-esteem, anxiety, loneliness
- Depression, anger, bullying
- Identity, culture
I work face to face with individuals – adults and young people – and with couples. Each session lasts one hour and the number of sessions can be long or short term. I feel it is important to address each client’s needs individually and I am happy to discuss any worries, expectations, or goals for counselling. The first session is a time to discuss the most helpful way of working together, with no obligation to continue; clients can book further appointments if they wish to do so.
Role
My role as your counsellor is to work with you at your pace in a way that best meets your needs and to help you to move forward with your life.
My Vision
My vision is to be recognised as a responsible and ethical accredited counsellor, which acts consistently within my mission and values. To be acknowledged as a counsellor who works within the B.A.C.P Code of ethics in demonstrating integrity, accountability and a culture of continuous support.
My Mission
My mission is to provide excellent face to face counselling and support to individuals with a wide range of issues in the meaningful transformation of their lives in achieving their goals and aspirations. I will provide this support by empowering individuals to gain a positive attitude and to manage difficult situations more effectively. Helping to raise your awareness and build up your self-esteem and your confidence.
Venue

Background
My nursing training took place in 1973. However, in 2003, I decided to move from the nursing profession into the counselling profession. My counselling training started in 2003 and this is still ongoing with my continued professional development (CPD). I believe it is important to keep knowledge updated. For many years I have worked for the N.H.S.
Training
I trained in Humanistic Counselling (Person-centred), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). After qualifying as a counsellor and supervisor, I then continued my training to become a practitioner in Nero-Linguistics Programming (N.L.P) so that I could add coaching to the services I offer.
Personal
I balance my life with music, singing, meditating, walking, dancing and writing, as well as spending time with family and friends.
